The participants included the representatives of UK DTI, Rosatom, HTSPE Ltd., the delegated from the city formation enterprises and the authorities of the closed cities of Seversk, Snezhinsk, Ozersk, Zheleznogorsk, Sarov, Novouralsk, and also the managers of the business development agencies of the closed cities developing the CNCP investment projects.
The main target of the CNCP Programme is to create sustainable employment for nuclear specialists going to be redundant (www.cncp.ru).
Briefly about the outcomes of the CNCP activity in the closed cities. Totally 59 projects of the total value of £18.2m have been approved by the CNCP. 697 jobs have already been created including 360 jobs for former weapon workers.
The CNCP Programme has an outlook for further development in Russia till 2012 with a chance for prolongation. 7 investment projects of a total value of £1,64m started in Seversk. The project cost includes £1,4m donated by the CNCP and the rest by the private sector. These projects will create 150 new jobs.
